Here’s a summary of the 12 posts about the Portuguese American community in southeastern New England, especially in southern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. I’ve created an index of the posts if you missed one or if you are new to the One Minute Geographer.

  1. The first post gives us an overview of the ethnic landscape that Portuguese Americans have created in southeastern New England, especially around the I-195 corridor between Providence RI and Cape Cod. This highway connects the three cities of New Bedford and Fall River, Massachusetts and East Providence, Rhode Island, the three cities with the largest percentage of Portuguese American population.

2. The Portuguese American have built an impressive number of monuments in the area.
